01Start With the Full Product Name
Record names such as Apple Gift Card, App Store & iTunes Gift Card and Apple Store Gift Card separately. Apple distinguishes these products and their uses differ. Also distinguish older cards, codes delivered by email and funds already added to an account.
Copy the wording on the card or delivery email instead of relabelling every product simply as an Apple card. If the name is unclear, provide an image with the redemption code concealed and ask support to identify it.
02Cross-Check Region, Currency and Purchase Records
Look for a country, storefront or currency on the card, purchase email or receipt, then note where and when it was obtained. A dollar or yen symbol, Japanese text or a front image alone should not settle the region question. Tell support about any conflicting details.

03Check Issuer Rules and Acceptance Separately
Apple states that these gift cards cannot be redeemed outside the country or region of purchase. Identify US and Japan cards separately rather than treating them as one freely interchangeable balance. The applicable issuer terms govern use and transfer restrictions.
